”I would like to believe so; however, I imagine if his will was guiding me to Bevelle it was for more than just to see home once again. Bevelle is said to house the greatest of Aeons for a Summoner. Perhaps to ease my journey, he desired to give me the protection of such an Aeon to protect me.” There was a level of anticipation in his voice as he thought along this train of thought. There were no Guardians by his side so surely to receive an Aeon from this fayth was Yevon’s Will working in mysterious ways to protect him. Even as the thought formed in his mind and he voiced it the idea of Yevon watching over him gave him a tiny glimmer of confidence for the upcoming trials. No one could truly understand how Yevon worked or what his will was. It all had to do with interpreting what you are handed out. Because Bevelle is such a faint memory of his, he couldn’t see the importance of rekindling any connection of it as being a home. No… instead he felt there was a greater purpose there and even if he couldn’t know what it was exactly, as a Summoner on pilgrimage, he could safely assume it had to do with the Fayth. He would need to conquer the Cloister of Trials and then make it to the chamber of the Fayth. Only then would he be able to be prepared for the hardships that were undoubtedly before him. ”Actually, some say that children appreciate the world around them far more than people. As adults, the concerns consist of food, shelter, and protection. A child untouched by the tragedies revolving around Sin tend to be full of wonder and curiosity about everything around them. I think as we grow older, we tend to lose that sense of appreciation of the world and think more narrow-minded in regards to our own concerns. It’s natural to close your mind to your immediate demands: it’s part of survival. I’m not so certain focusing on what Yevon has predestined for us or for me, would make me see more clearly. If anything, I would be far too focused looking for some sort of sign by him in order to honestly… ‘see’. If that makes any sense.” They had different opinions on the matter but he wasn’t about to try and convince her that he was correct in this view. Both were likely correct on some degree or another. They arrived at the temple door and Lezard took that moment to bow before Cross once more, ”Thank you for your assistance, Ms. Cross. May Yevon watch over you and your crusader friend and may your studies in Black Magic serve you well.” The Cloister of Trials were ahead. This was why he had felt the need to venture to Bevelle first, he just knew it. There was nothing else in the city that he had been drawn to. |
