TILLY
al bhed
APPEARANCE Tilly is a young, Al Bhed girl of below average height. Her blonde hair reaches her ankles in large waves. Various pieces of her hair are braided, although they don't appear to be braided in any sort of style. In reality Tilly braids them when boredom grips her. Her hair is so long she does not think much about ever undoing the braids, except for when she may need to wash her hair. Even then she only focuses on the very top of her head so she may leave braids in her hair even while bathing. The outcome of this is sometimes a messy, matted up head of hair. Tilly has the strange green eyes of an Al Bhed, with the blue swirl adorning them. Her face is small, although her forehead is a bit wide. Often times the young summoner finds various plant-life and adorns the sides of her hair with them by pinning them up and into her hair. Tilly's stature makes her seem very frail, which is true to a degree. She is a white mage and white mages generally do not possess very good defenses. She is thin and lacks much curvature to her figure. Generally she wears long, flowing white robes with a bright red sash squeezing her waist. The robes drag the ground. The shoulder pieces to the robe are bunched together with 2 golden pins. The golden pins are adorned with small red gems. Tilly's demeanor is very bouncy and light-seeming. She never takes very much seriously and always has a smile on her face. She doesn't like shoes very much and most of the time packs them away and opts to go barefoot. PERSONALITY Most people enjoy the young Al Bhed's company, she seems very personable and talkative. Most of all she is highly optimistic, especially when dealing with the people of Spira. Tilly is very sure that some day Spiran's will atone for their past mistakes and Yevon himself will shine down upon them and rid them of Sin's plight. She is very trusting, she places her trust in others completely until they give her a reason not to and even then she might trust them to a degree. If she is able to keep her trust in someone eventually she will come to view them as a permanent figure in her life, someone she could put her very life in the hands of. Tilly is very dutiful, since being accepted as a Summoner she has made it clear that she will give the Pilgrimage her very best. She feels as though it is now her duty to bring about the Calm, and surely it should be. In her eyes no one else need die except her, all the other Summoners deserve to live their life. Not that she feels as though she deserves to die, she simply feels that it is better her than someone else. Perhaps that is not her decision to make, but she will not have it any other way. With that, Tilly seems selfless. She is willing to sacrifice herself in front of all other candidates for the simple purpose of saving lives. If she were to dwell on the subject of Sin killing other's too long she would more than likely be brought to tears. Tilly simply cannot bear Spira's suffering despite knowing that as a Summoner she should be strong for the populace. A lot of the time Tilly can come off a little strong. She is very thoughtful of others, although sometimes she can be a bit clingy. As mentioned before, Tilly forms strong bonds with those she trusts for a while. Once those bonds are formed Tilly will not let them go easily. She's not much for change, even though everything around her is changing quickly. Because of this she tends to stick to the people she has always known. This is not to say she isn't interested in meeting others, in fact Tilly is most excited about her journey to meet new people, but the prospect is a little scary to the young girl. She is afraid that people might not feel that she has it in her to become the next High-Summoner and even though she constantly reminds herself that she does, that she must become that, there is always that faraway doubt that she couldn't possibly be what Spira truly needs. This brings us to the next item of her personality; this particular Summoner is insecure. Tilly loves people, all kinds of people. She has a love for her own Ethnic background but being brought up in a household who followed Yevon's teachings makes her wonder why they turn their back on his teachings. She doesn't understand that people are actually blatantly racist of the Machina users and this could be a problem for her later on. Many people in Spira may look down on her since she is obviously Al Bhed. Even if she is ready to give her life for Spira many people will say that they do not want her life. She is especially interested in meeting the other races in Al Bhed. She's seen the Ronso before but never has she seen a Guado, how exciting will that be? Seeing that Tilly loves people, she absolutely hates being alone. As short as her attention span is Tilly tends to get distracted easily. She is impulsive, which can get her into trouble more than it's worth. One of the only things she really thought out about her life is becoming a summoner, therefore it was not on one of her crazy impulsive feelings that she decided to attempt the Pilgrimage. Possibly the worst aspect to her personality is that she is so undeniably naive. She has yet to truly taste the harshness the world can deal a person Before she can become the next High Summoner Tilly has a lot of growing up to do. HISTORY The young Al Bhed does not remember much of her past before the age of seven. She can recall bits of it, in particular she remembers the strange days of running around, playing on the old machina-operated ship that her biological parents owned. Although Tilly doesn't have any recollection of it\\ she had been born on that ship. Tilly was the youngest of the large Al Bhed family and back then she was called Ireina. She was spunky, always getting into things, and her parents seemed to love her very much. Before her the Al Bhed couple had birthed 4 children. Three were boys, the oldest being a girl. These were her siblings, very often Tilly wonders about them. If little Ireina had survived surely they could have as well. As mentioned, Ireina was the youngest, then going from the youngest to the oldest was Teng, Rassuf, Edrick and Sasha. Back then, of course, Tilly spoke Al Bhed and knew almost no Spiran. The Al Bhed family would occasionally go to the mainland, mainly Luca to do some trading, but most of their days were spent on the water. Life was simple for them. But that was before Sin came. The day it happened seemed so ordinary, Tilly and the youngest son had been playing near the edge of the boat when suddenly the ship was knocked upwards. Their father had emerged from the cabin, his face white and his eyes wide. In Al Bhed he ordered them to go down below while the others went out and tried to steer the boat away from Sin. All Tilly can remember is being huddled up in a dark corner with Teng who was only 2 years older than she. She was seven at the time. Tilly can remember something falling, knocking her hard in the head before blacking out. She was positive water had started to fill the cabin area. During this time the young Al Bhed child was positive that she was going to die. But Tilly woke up in unfamiliar woods. She couldn't remember how she'd gotten there or where she came from. She couldn't remember her name or who she was. She couldn't understand the people who found her and when she opened her mouth to speak she became even more confused, why couldn't she speak like them? But more than anything Tilly felt as if she should be sad, and she was. When the couple took her in and cleaned her up, nursing her wounds, Tilly cried, but not because of the physical pain. She spent her first weeks crying and the Kilikan couple that found her could do nothing more but hold her. Eventually the young girl would begin to remember who she was and what happened to her family. Even though it was a relief to know that Sin's toxin had not effected her permanently this realization only brought on more sadness. Nightmares filled her sleep, Teng's body floating lifelessly around her as Sin drug her parent's boat further and further underneath the water; these images filled her mind and caused her to wake in the middle of the night multiple times. Gatuk and Kalla took the young girl to the Temple everyday. There she slowly adapted her language and learned Spiran. Her adoptive parents had renamed her during her fight with Sin's Toxins since they did not like referring to her simply as "little girl". They gave her the name Tilly and even when she remembered her actual name she decided that Tilly suited her better. The young girl placed her faith in Yevon. She felt as though it was Yevon who had delivered her from Sin and released her mind from it's toxins. At an early age Tilly pledged her life to the temple. Gatuk and Kalla supported this and encouraged her path. As Tilly grew in years she realized exactly how generous her adoptive family had been, taking her in as they had. But really, Gatuk and Kalla were grateful to have the experience of a child. For many years they tried to have their own but could not, in some twisted way Yevon had delivered Tilly to them for they had prayed for a child for many years. There was still a reminiscence of the young girl's former life. She was spunkier than any priestess in training Kilika Temple had ever seen and almost to attest to her wilder days Tilly would not wear shoes almost ever. When she reached the age of 14 she began to feel as though Yevon wanted her to take a more radical path. When the thought occurred to her at first she shook it off. She did not have it in her to complete the Pilgrimage. But as time passed other reasons began to influence her. Although Tilly's life as an Al Bhed was long gone there was a part of her that resented Sin on a more personal level. It destroyed her family, perhaps she owed it to them to destroy this Sin and bring about the next Calm. It took her a while to discuss it with her parents. They said she was too young but knew how much Yevon really meant to her. A year ticked by and Tilly had made the decision to start the pilgrimage with or without their consent. When she told them this all they could do was sigh deeply and tell her that if that's what she truly wished to do then she should. Ten years after Tilly had washed up upon Kilika's shore she successfully obtained her first Aeon and became a summoner. Gatuk had made a few stipulations. One being that she must have at least one guardian but that was easy enough to decide. Luke had been her friend from the beginning, he was the one that found her bruised and broken on the shore ten years before. He had hardly ever left her side during her first weeks at Kilika. In a way, Luke was already her guardian. Present day Tilly spends her remaining days at Kilika telling everyone goodbye. She has realized that she doesn't like goodbyes but she is trying to be strong. Together with Luke, Tilly prepares for her long journey. ROLEPLAY SAMPLE Beneath her feet were green clovers. She always enjoyed the softness of them. Deep in the Kilika Woods sunlight did not touch much of the wildlife so as Tilly progressed her way through the trees she felt the coolness of the greenery underneath her bare feet. The clovers were always especially cold. Above her birds could be heard, chirping up to the sun that shone so brightly that day. In the village people were busy, and Tilly had grown tired of being fussed with. Everyone was so excited. She'd come a long way from the small excommunicated Al Bhed girl her parents had found some time ago. She was a fully-fledged summoner now, ready to start her Pilgrimage. A small grin tugged at her lips. She had finally done it. It had taken her a while to talk her foster parents into it, they were stubborn. But just as they were, so was she. She had been determined to go forth and start the Pilgrimage. She would bring the next Calm, which, in her mind, was the best way to repay the lovely couple who had opened their hearts and home to the orphaned girl. To Tilly, Kalla was her mother and her father was Gatuk. Tilly outstretched her hand, towards sunlight that streamed in through the trees. Following the line of light Tilly caught site of a lovely red flower growing nearby. Her smile widened. Kilika Woods was not the safest place in Spira, but it was okay. As a newly born Summoner Tilly was able to summon her first Aeon, Ifrit; the fire Aeon. Upon summoning him for the first time, Tilly had nearly jumped from her skin. But once things had settled and she was able to run her small hand over his large claw Tilly realized this ferocious beast was completely loyal to her. Honestly she fell in love with him. Not only that but she felt the smallest pang of sadness for him. She had prayed to Ifrit's Fayth at the Temple. The Fayth had seemed lonely, sad. Perhaps they longed for the life they once had but could never possess again. To think that the only time they could emerge from their temples and be somewhat free was when a summoner called upon them for help. That had to be a lonely life. To the right of her, Tilly could hear water flowing. She took quiet, careful steps. Sure there were Fiends around but if the young Summoner kept quiet and her distance they would more than likely ignore her. That was not always the case, but for today Tilly hoped it would be. Making it to the water Tilly released a sigh. She had hardly noticed she had been holding her breath. Perhaps coming alone was too unnerving for the girl. Once her parents noticed she had slipped away they would come looking for her. Despite the excitement of obtaining her first Summon she was sad. Kilika was her home, her beautiful home, and she was leaving it tomorrow. She needed time to herself, to pull herself away from all the places that had become much like a security blanket. Tilly crouched down by the water. If she leaned over just a little she could see her reflection in the water's surface. There she could see the tears she refused to release. She had thought seeing the woods would brighten her up a little before she left. If she kept this up she would be in tears before boarding the ship tomorrow. The young summoner was so lost in thought she hadn't noticed the crackling branches behind her as a light green lizard-like fiend crept up behind her. It was when she heard the rush of footsteps that she turned her head a little to see the malicious green monster just before it leaped towards her, ready to land an attack. The footsteps belonged to her guardian, Luke. He was brandishing a red-tinted blade, rushing forward at an odd speed. He had obviously cast Haste upon himself before charging the monster that was about to make dinner out of Tilly, the useless summoner. With one swift swing of his blade the Fiend was dead and bursting into very many pyreflies around them. Tilly had not had the time to stand since the action began. Luke stood still a moment, willing his Time Magic to dissipate before approaching her. It was obvious that he was annoyed. He was always annoyed. Oh.. maybe I am not cut out for this summoner stuff... ABILITIES Pray: can heal minor wounds of multiple targets. Cooldown: once per post. Cure: Can mend minor bone injuries and deep wounds. Cure uses a lot of the casters strength to successfully cast. Cooldown: 3 posts. Esuna: Cures illnesses like poison, confusion, silence and paralysis, if ailment has been long-going Esuna will not cure them. Cooldown: 2 posts. Vigor: Restores some HP to the caster, not very much. Vigor can be cast more quickly than cure and does not deplete a casters stamina. Cooldown: once per post. Ruin: Ruin is a defensive ability. It sends a blast of holy light towards an enemy. Ruin is by no means a strong spell. It does minimal damage but comes in handy when dealing with enemies. Cooldown: once per post. SUMMON LIST IFRIT: Ifrit is an aeon obtained in Kilika Temple. The symbol for Ifrit and Kilika is annotated with the kanji for flame (炎, honoo?). The kanji does not mean "fire", but a more emphatic word for a flame or blaze. Ifrit is a very physically strong Aeon. He can attack those with the highest defenses and do a decent amount of damage. ATTACK LIST Meteor Strike: A large fiery ball is formed from Ifrit's mouth. He then punches it to deal fiery damage to an enemy. This attack has the potential to eat through shields and other tough material. Hell Fire: Bathes the enemy party in a ball of rising flame and then throws a chunk of earth at them, causing Fire damage. This attack is fairly powerful, however Ifrit lacks in speed. His movement is very slowed, but he's pretty tough. INVENTORY POTION X3 ANTIDOTE X1 SOFT X1 ECHO SCREEN X1 EYE DROPS X1 HOLY WATER X1 |
